Ellevation - Overview

Ellevation is an English Learner (EL) program management platform that organizes EL student data, supports critical meeting and monitoring processes, tracks accommodations, enables accurate internal/state reporting, and supports instructional planning for multilingual students.

Targeted Schools and Grade Levels

Ellevation is a district-wide application used for all grade levels PK-12.

Licensing Model

ELLevation is licensed on a per student basis. Although all students are fed into ELLevation, the yearly cost is based on the number of Emergent Bilingual students in the system (see ELLevation FAQs). The software is part of the Student Support Services annual budget.

Rostering

Student enrollment, demographic information, class rosters, and staff are managed by a nightly file upload process from our SIS (Skyward) to Ellevation via the KTX data warehouse. Any staff, including administrators, needing an Ellevation account must first have a Skyward account. There is a 24-48 hour turnaround between data being entered/updated in Skyward and those changes appearing in Ellevation.

Note: The data sync between Skyward and Ellevation is one way. Skyward populates student, roster and user data. PEIMS reportable data updated in Ellevation does not automatically sync into Skyward and must be entered manually.

User Access

Rostering via file upload will:

• Create new students
• Update existing students
• Create a user account and grant access for a new teacher
• Link a teacher to the students that are rostered to them in Skyward
• Create and grant basic teacher access for district or school admin user, but not grant district or school-wide access

For district/regional users needing access to specific campuses, please verify you can log into Ellevation then submit a request to your regional ELL coordinator for the campuses you need access to. Your regional ELL coordinator will apply permissions, granting access to the appropriate campuses.

For school admins, please please verify you can log into Ellevation then submit a request to your regional ELL coordinator for school-wide access. Your regional ELL coordinator will apply permissions granting school-wide access for your school.

Login

• Navigate to the KIPP Texas Clever portal
• Click on the Log in with Google.
• Enter your KIPP Texas Public Schools Google credentials.
• Once logged into Clever, click on the Ellevation tile located under English & Language Arts.

• For roster, issues logging into Clever, or issues logging into Ellevation from Clever please submit a ticket to IT Applications
• For school, regional or district level staff requiring elevated permissions please reach out to your regional ELL coordinator.
