How do I share my meeting in Google Classroom?
|
Google Classroom has many built-in ways to communicate with your students. This includes emailing students or guardians, creating posts, questions, assignments and quizzes.
But one thing that is not well integrated into Classroom is Google Meet for teacher-led instruction. Google calendar exists as a link in Google Classroom; however there is not an intuitive way to post a meeting URL in a Classroom feed.
But it is possible! You will have to do some additional steps to do it. Here's how:
- Enter your Google Classroom that you set up the Google Meet for.
- Create a Question in the Classwork tab.
- Have the Question be titled based on your lesson. For example: "Adding Fractions Live Meet"
- Have the description explain that this is a video meeting for your students to join at the specified time.
- Add a Link to the Question, and use the Google Meet link you created using Google Calendar.
- Set the Points for the question to "Ungraded" unless you wish to use this feature.
- Set a Due Date/Time equal to the Date/Time of the Meet.
- Save your Question.
- You will see a post with your meet info
